One of Moser’s most popular collections from 1934 was named after the enchanting late 18th century English actress, the wife of diplomat William Hamilton and allegedly the mistress of Admiral Nelson and the muse of painter George Romney. The colourful life of this femme fatale became the model for a figure in a novel by Alexander Dumas the elder.
The striking shape of the set is emphasized by the bold, simple cut and heavy, pleasant stem and base. The noble form of the cups, hand polished to a high-gloss, is complemented by gold or platinum decoration around the rims.

Maharani is characterised by the elegant shape of the cup, richly decorated with classicist flowers and drapery, which progresses fluidly to the stem with its six-sided cut. The fine lace of the engraved floral motifs is complemented by hand-painted gold lines and a pearl-cut finish.
Maharani is the traditional title for the wife of the maharaja. The collection owes its name to a commission for Maharani Sethu Lakshmi Bayi, who from 1924–1931 was regent of the southern Indian kingdom of Travancore in the present-day Indian state of Kerala. Not only Maharani but other Moser crystal was also ordered by the queen’s successor, the Maharaja of Travancore.

The Optic collection, designed in 2011, wins you over immediately with its unforced elegance. The bewitching lightness is born of the light that permeates the thin, almost imperceptibly undulating walls of the glasses and cups. This playful effect is supported by the sensitive use of the Moser colours. As the wall of each glass becomes thinner, the Moser colour range changes from the glowing contrasts of the base and stem to the subtlest tones on the edge of the bowl. In the same way, the colour penetrates through the design that you can see in the shadows thrown by each shape. “Optic has many forms. The crystal optics give it lightness and elegance”, the author says of one of his favourite collections.

Mouth-blown, hand-cut and hand polished to a high gloss. The drinking set Mozart can be described as: “The Beauty is in Simplicity”. The Classical form with engraved pearl rim corresponds to Tauschek’s artistic style, in which he often drew inspiration from the art of Rococo and Classicism. Each glass is splendidly balanced, both to look at and when raised for a toast. Despite its seeming simplicity, the form is very difficult to produce.
